I first heard of Mari a month or two ago when The Blog Squad gals, Denise Wakeman and Patsi Krakoff, interviewed her on the topic of Facebook. She is one of the people who helped me see Facebook as a way to network for business, not just kill lots of time.
I know I've only hit the tip of the iceberg of what I can do there. With 69 million users, more than half out of college, Facebook is something entrepreneurs need to start paying attention to. A lot of them already are. I've noticed much more activity in the last two weeks and connected with many people doing great stuff like:
- Travis Greenlee who recently started a Business Building Mastery group which now has more than 800 members
- John Reese, the superstar online marketer who reached the Facebook limit of 5,000 friends in just 5 days and had to create a new "fan page" to handle the overflow
- Jeff Herring, the Article Guy, who just created a mastermind group on Article Marketing with videos and a discussion board
Something is definitely happening, and you don't want to miss out. So here's what you do...First, If you don't already have a Facebook account, click here to get one now. It's free and it's easy.
Second, read Mari's great write up in Fast Company, which called her "The Pied Piper of Facebook," where she shares a number of tips on getting started.
Then, if you're serious about learning how to leverage Facebook for business, sign up for Mari's online class which has expert interviews, online training videos and soon, a massive e-book with loads more information.
Finally, if you'd like to connect, add me as a friend. Let's learn how to rock Facebook together!

Thanks a million for the props, Liz.
It's a delight to connect with a fellow Facebook enthusiast. I love your energy and your anticipation of something big happening - I feel it too!!! :D
I'm glad we met on FB and am excited to share this amazing journey with you.

Sounds revolutionary! I've heard how many people are using facebook not only to market, but to network, strategize, and connect. I am a firm believer that all of these tactics are what can really bring change to the female business workforce. It seems that by networking through such a large hub, the reach can be far greater than one could have imagined by just blogging. Sometimes the smallest bits of advice have the largest impacts. I actually work with Microsoft, and right now I’m really excited to spread the word about the “Vision to Venture” tour they’re having between April and May, which will consist of five live events. Featured speaker, John Jantsch is a marketing and digital technology coach, award-winning social media publisher, and author of Duct Tape Marketing: The World's Most Practical Small Business Marketing Guide. The event is geared to female entreprenuers and small business developers and owners, I think you and your readers would really be interested in taking a look. Our first event was momentous and we hope to continue on with our success. You can see more and register at http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/v2v/ so let me know what you think! And if you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer them
