I first heard of Mari a month or two ago when The Blog Squad gals, Denise Wakeman and Patsi Krakoff, interviewed her on the topic of Facebook. She is one of the people who helped me see Facebook as a way to network for business, not just kill lots of time.
I know I've only hit the tip of the iceberg of what I can do there. With 69 million users, more than half out of college, Facebook is something entrepreneurs need to start paying attention to. A lot of them already are. I've noticed much more activity in the last two weeks and connected with many people doing great stuff like:
- Travis Greenlee who recently started a Business Building Mastery group which now has more than 800 members
- John Reese, the superstar online marketer who reached the Facebook limit of 5,000 friends in just 5 days and had to create a new "fan page" to handle the overflow
- Jeff Herring, the Article Guy, who just created a mastermind group on Article Marketing with videos and a discussion board
Something is definitely happening, and you don't want to miss out. So here's what you do...First, If you don't already have a Facebook account, click here to get one now. It's free and it's easy.
Second, read Mari's great write up in Fast Company, which called her "The Pied Piper of Facebook," where she shares a number of tips on getting started.
Then, if you're serious about learning how to leverage Facebook for business, sign up for Mari's online class which has expert interviews, online training videos and soon, a massive e-book with loads more information.
Finally, if you'd like to connect, add me as a friend. Let's learn how to rock Facebook together!
