(Still on the road in Bali): Because I left for vacation
almost immediately after joining Facebook a couple of weeks ago, I haven’t done much on the site recently except add a new picture. The other one was just too formal (it’s the one I use all the time, you can see it at the right side of this page if you scroll down).
I’ve noticed that most people tend to show a more fun, personal side, so I’m a bit more relaxed in this one (on the terrace of the Blue Palace Resort in Crete on my 10th wedding anniversary).
Thanks to Chris Brogan, who saw my original post, LinkedIn vs. Facebook, came to my aid and got me started as my first friend. I joined a couple of networks before I left and while I’ve been gone, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to get pinged from a few friends I haven’t heard from in a while.
Like Cecilia Pagkalinawan, who is director of web and e-commerce at Frette, and Kim Thompson, with whom I worked at DoubleClick many moons ago, and has been at Google for the last five years. Both extraordinary, impressive women.
I’ve asked some of my friends to comment on how they use Facebook, so you’ll be hearing about that in future posts. If you’re on Facebook, let’s connect and tell me why you joined and how you’re using the site.

Glad to introduce you to the game, Liz. It's an evoloving structure, this whole Facebook-for-more-than-college-kids thing. We'll see where it bears fruit.
