I'm gathering research on a potential product and need your help. What's the single biggest
question you have about introducing yourself to others -- in a group or individually -- when networking? For example, maybe you're not sure how much to say or when it's okay to hand out your business card. Whatever it is, I want to know. Click on the comments link just below this posting to leave your question and read what others are asking. Don't be shy! I want to hear from you.

Hi Liz, I organize and facilitate speed networking events for professionals and job seekers. This seems to be a great way for people to connect because it removes many of the roadblocks associated with networking such as approaching a group that is already engaged in a conversation. Since "speed networking" events should not become a crutch for people, how do you recommend someone approach a group who is already engaged in a conversation at a networking event?

Hi Liz,
I have realized the importance of networking and started doing it myself for the last one year or so.I have also started reading your articles. But one thing which always confront me is how do I break into a conversation with a set of people who mingle only within a specific group.I have tried differnet methods to break into them but my actions had never been very successful. How could I make myself noticed within a group? If I have a business plan/model which I need to talk to for potential investor or partners, when and how do I put it across the board?
It would be great to hear from you.
Rds,
Arnab

I met you last night at the NYT Networking session. I thought you were terrific and I am enjoying your site! I am going to share it with my entire email list of leaders I work with in my business! Good luck to you. If I can help you in any way, let me know. Meanwhile, I'll continue to enjoy all the great tips you have on your site...just ordered your book.
