One of my favorite places to network is at seminars, especially multi-day ones. Okay, maybe I’m a bit of a seminar junkie and love to learn, so if I were in it just for the content, that would be
enough. But for networking, the combination of common interests and PLENTY of time (with coffee breaks, lunch, cocktail receptions, etc.) is a wonderful opportunity to make deeper connections with people.
In fact, now that I think about it, I actually have a stronger track record of both hiring and being hired by folks I’ve met at multi-day seminars, compared to the usual breakfast or evening events. I’ve also made some good friends too.
One seminar I would highly recommend is the Publishing Seminar on May 31-June 2 in New York City, hosted by Rick Frishman and Fred Gleeck. If you want to be on your way to mini-celebrity-dom and a big passive income stream with a book, e-book, booklet or other infoproduct, then this is the seminar for you.
I've heard both Rick and Fred speak on multiple occasions -- on publicity and infoproduct development & marketing, respectively -- and I have to say that I learn something new every time I listen. Plus, they've assembled a collection of experts to help you reach your publishing goals, including:
The Publishing Seminar is truly a bargain at $197 for three full days. The chance to do double duty at such a low price is too good to miss.
